1. Who we are

bEW IT is an online store operated from 12 Herzl St, Tel Aviv, Israel. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@bewit.co.il or via the contact page.

2. What we collect

We only collect the information needed to serve you:

  • Order details — name, phone, email and shipping address you enter at checkout, kept to fulfill and deliver your order.
  • Cart & preferences — stored locally on your device (localStorage) so your cart and selections survive page reloads.
  • Newsletter email — if you subscribe, your email is saved so we can send you updates and discounts.
  • Contact messages — the details you send us through the contact form, used only to reply to you.
  • Technical data — server logs may record your IP address, browser type and pages visited, used solely for security and to keep the Site functioning.

3. How we use it

Your data is used solely to process orders, deliver products, provide support, send tracking updates and — only with your consent — marketing emails. We never sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Sharing with third parties

We share only what is strictly required to complete your order:

  • AliExpress — order fulfillment and shipping; your name, phone and address are transferred to place and deliver your order.
  • Payment providers — card or Bit payments are processed by the payment provider; we never store your card details.
  • Email services — used to deliver tracking and support emails (EmailJS, when configured).

5. Storage, retention & security

Retention. Order records are kept as long as needed to fulfill your order, provide the 2-year warranty and meet statutory obligations, and no longer than reasonably necessary afterwards. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We do not keep data longer than required for the purposes described in this policy.

Security. We apply reasonable security measures in line with the Privacy Protection Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017: the admin area is protected by an access code, customer data is never published or shared except as described in section 4, and we collect only the minimum data needed for each purpose.

Breach handling. If a data breach affecting personal information occurs, we will act without delay to contain it, notify affected users and report to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority as required by law, including under Amendment 13 to the Privacy Protection Law.

6. Your rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law (1981), as amended by Amendment 13 (2024), you have the right to:

  • Access — receive information about whether we hold your personal data and a copy of it.
  • Correction — request that inaccurate or outdated data be corrected or completed.
  • Deletion — request that your data be deleted when it is no longer needed for the purposes it was collected.
  • Objection and restriction — object to processing of your data for marketing, and request restriction of processing.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority if you believe your rights were violated.

EU/EEA customers (GDPR). If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your data in accordance with the GDPR: consent for the newsletter, contract performance for orders, and a legitimate interest in securing the Site. You may request erasure, portability or restriction of processing at any time.

California residents (CCPA). If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act grants you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information — we do not sell personal information. 7. Cookies & local storage

This site does not use tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage only to keep your cart, language preference and session state on your own device. When you first visit the Site you will see a consent window where you can manage your preferences. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

8. Compliance with Amendment 13 (2024)

Our practices comply with Amendment 13 to the Israeli Privacy Protection Law:

  • Legal basis for processing — we process personal data only on the following bases: your consent (newsletter, preferences), performance of a contract (order fulfillment and shipping), legal obligations (retention for warranty and statutory periods) and legitimate interests (preventing fraud, securing the Site).
  • Lawful collection only — we never collect or process personal data obtained illegally, and we do not buy or sell information.
  • No sensitive data — we do not collect information of special sensitivity (health, race, religion, biometrics, etc.), and we do not profile users or process children's data.
  • No registration of database required — under Amendment 13, private businesses are generally exempt from database registration; we maintain an internal record of our processing activities instead.
  • Data protection officer — Amendment 13 requires appointing a DPO mainly for organizations processing sensitive data at significant scale or conducting systematic large-scale tracking. We do not meet these criteria; questions about privacy are handled by our privacy team at hello@bewit.co.il.
  • Enforcement awareness — we are aware of the enforcement powers granted under Amendment 13 (administrative fines, court orders to stop processing and delete data, criminal offenses for unauthorized database processing) and we maintain our practices accordingly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in the law. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the update date shown at the top.
